From salmon packed rivers to the halibut rich waters of Cook Inlet, our Kenai River fishing lodge offers unforgettable adventures ranging from fly outs to multi species trips for anglers chasing the ultimate challenge. This year alone, more than 4 million sockeye salmon returned to the Kenai, more than double recent seasons and a promising sign for what’s ahead.
Our Alaska resident staff live here year round, bringing deep local knowledge and firsthand experience to every trip. From the moment you arrive, every detail is taken care of so you can focus on the experience while fishing alongside true Alaskan locals. With a maximum of just 16 guests, our lodge delivers a quiet, personal atmosphere that never feels crowded.
All fishing gear is provided including rain gear and waders, allowing you to travel light and fish comfortably in any conditions. After a full day on the water, return to the lodge to sample the flavors of Alaska with delicious homemade meals, comfortable rooms, and a relaxed setting designed to help you unwind.
If fishing is not your focus, there is still plenty to explore. Cruise through Kenai Fjords, watch bears in their natural habitat, kayak pristine waters, hike scenic trails, or simply relax at the lodge.

Hello, I’m Dorothy Baker, better known as Auntie, and I would like to personally welcome you to Crooked Creek Retreat & Outfitters. We’ve worked hard to create a place where every detail is taken care of, so your stay is easy, comfortable, and unforgettable. This year we’ve introduced new programs designed to fit every kind of traveler to Alaska. Choose a fishing adventure, a wildlife and scenery adventure, or combine both for the full Alaska experience.
A Taste of Fishing
Head out with professional guides for world-class river fishing for salmon, trout, or steelhead. Cast on a quiet lake, or venture into saltwater for halibut and multi-species trips that include rockfish, lingcod, and yelloweye. For something truly special, fly into a remote river for that classic “A River Runs Through It” experience. We can even add a little surf fishing for halibut, salmon, or whatever’s biting.
A Taste of Wildlife & Scenery
If your heart leans toward adventure and breathtaking views, let us arrange a Kenai Fjords cruise where you may see whales, sea lions, puffins, and even glaciers calving into the sea. Take a fly-out for bear viewing, canoe across Johnson Lake, or cruise Tustumena Lake, one of my favorite hidden gems. Try a side-by-side beach tour with views of volcanoes across the inlet and a campfire lunch on the shore. Add in birdwatching, hikes for every level, and the wildlife right outside the lodge, sandhill cranes, swans, moose, and the occasional bear – and you’ll see Alaska at its wildest.
